Resolve conflict related to officiating

Unit Descriptor This unit covers the identification of causes of conflict and the implementation of strategies and procedures for resolving conflict related to officiating. Personnel undertaking this unit would be seeking to officiate in a sport specific event or competition.

ELEMENTPERFORMANCE CRITERIA
1 . Develop conflict resolution procedures in an activity context

  1. Identify possible causes of conflict that may arise for officials

  2. Plan strategies for conflict resolution and conflict resolution procedures to deal with types of conflict in an officiating environment

2 . Implement conflict resolution procedures in an activity context

  1. Recognise the signs of conflict

  2. Identify the causes of conflict

  3. Select and implement strategies for conflict resolution and conflict resolution procedures in accord with the best practice principles of the activity

  4. Explain strategies for conflict resolution and conflict resolution procedures to the individual/s involved and other relevant stakeholders where appropriate

  5. Explain the rights of individuals who are involved in the conflict resolution process and other relevant stakeholders

  6. Analyse the effectiveness of the implementation strategies for conflict resolution and conflict resolution procedures and adjust accordingly

  7. Comply the selected conflict resolution procedures and associated documentation with the laws and regulations relating to the rights of individuals
